Uniform Policy

Please read this 2023-24 uniform policy in entirety.

General Information:

  • You will be issued a uniform at the beginning of each season. The uniform consists of a Jacket, Insulator and Pant.
  • You are required to return it at the end of the season or within 24 hours if you leave the Company prior to the end of the season.
  • If you do not return your uniform per the below procedures, you will be charged accordingly.

Appearance and Use:

  • While in a uniform, even if not on the clock, you are a representative for the Aspen Skiing Company and should conduct yourself in a manner befitting that status.
  • Your base layers should maintain a professional look. Your Supervisor will give you more specifics on your base layers and when you can wear it (such as department training, commuting to work, etc).
  • Do not wear hoodies as an insulating layer. Please, do not let your insulator layer show below your jacket. If you are not wearing your outer jacket we ask that you wear the insulator to keep a uniform look.
  • Do not wear your uniform for free skiing or riding on your day off.
  • The ski pass is part of your uniform – ALWAYS WEAR YOUR PASS IF YOU ARE IN UNIFORM AND USING THE LIFTS!

Your Responsibility for your Uniform:

It is your responsibility to keep your uniform CLEAN and protect it from being lost, stolen, or damaged.

You will be charged the replacement value for any unreturned uniform pieces at these rates: Jacket $350, Pants $220, Puffy Insulator $180, Utility Vest $130, Cashier/Ticketing Vest $100, Fleece $100, Raincoat $80.

Because of the size and number of locker rooms ASC cannot be responsible for stolen items. Too many people and departments have access to these areas. You must make sure that you are comfortable with the security of your own items. ASC will do everything possible to prevent theft, but obviously cannot make guarantees about security. All locker rooms will be locked and video-monitored during non-business hours. Cables can be purchased to lock parkas and uniforms. Even so, items disappear every season. Please make sure your uniform is safe.

Uniform Problems:

If your pants are too long, tear, or break, PLEASE DO NOT ALTER OR USE DUCT TAPE! Do NOT alter your own uniform!!! Email [email protected] to arrange a solution to your problem!

Policy for missing, stolen, and late uniforms:

  • You are responsible for returning your uniform (see below for directions) by the stated deadlines
  • If you don’t return your uniform by the final deadline (May 1, 2024), your pass will be blocked and you will be charged for either a late fee or the full value of the missing pieces.
  • Late fees start at $50 for the First offense and increase by $50 for each occurrence after that. (ie. Second Late is $100, Third Late is $150)
  • Uniforms must be returned NO later than May 1, 2024. After May 1, 2024, you will need to schedule an appointment and will be charged the applicable late fee. No exceptions.
  • Be aware: Your actions may impact future issuance. The number of hours worked, how you care for the uniform, and/or other issues with the Wardrobe Department may determine whether you will receive a new, used, or the same uniform for the following season! Supervisors and Managers will be advised of employees who repeatedly turn in damaged and dirty uniforms.

Uniform Return–  Please return your uniform promptly to the ABC 407 NO LATER THAN May 1, 2024:

  • Please check the employee portal uniform page for Wardrobe current hours. Instructions for return will be handed out at the beginning of the season and also sent to your supervisor throughout the season. If you don’t return your uniform, your pass will be blocked until the issue is resolved and any fees have been paid. These are strict deadlines so please plan accordingly.
  • When you return your uniform, please provide the following information:
    • Your name, Mountain and Department
    • Do you plan to return for the next year?
    • The number of hours that you wore each piece? Jacket, Insulator, Pants, etc.
    • Additional comments could include: any repairs needed, changes in sizes, etc.
  • Please return your uniform to the Wardrobe Department within 24 hours of quitting or termination.  If employment ends on a weekend, return your uniform to your coordinator or Supervisor.  Please advise the Wardrobe Department at [email protected] in such cases.
  • If any part of your uniform is not returned by the deadline or specifications described above, your credit or debit card on file will be charged.
